Life Driven
Lyrics by Lori Sanderson, Music by Tom SandersonIt can be old, dented, or broken
but it’s how you drive it that’s importantIt can be aged, beat up, dinged or damaged,
but you can remember to treat it with your health in mindIt can be filled with tragedy, challenges, or breakups
but you can be thankful, charitable and kindIt can be low pay, tiring, boring and repetitive
But you can still work it with determination, honesty, and dedicationThey can be apart, quarrelsome, and downright insensitive,
but you can treat them with patience, charity, and compassion

Lyrics were written by Lori Sanderson. The idea for the lyrics was inspired by a person she recently spoke with who said “it’s how you drive it that’s important,” making the driving analogy with living life. I thought this song would fit a country ballad format. Hope you like it.
I like the lyrics and the refrain. Very good lines, “They can be apart, quarrelsome, and downright insensitive,
but you can treat them with patience, charity, and compassion”
