So one of my brothers made a short little song on LMMS called “You can use this as the start of one of your songs E-Sandy.”
So I did.
But it wasn’t really the start: I turned it into the chorus. It was the main melody line, just a bit simpler. I added a little jazziness, and put in a bassline, and I had a fun-sounding chorus!
It was at that point that my mom came up to me and said, “Hey, that sounds good! So now you’re just gonna copy-paste it for the rest of the song, right?”
I said, “What? Of course not!”
My mom said, “Oh really?”
Challenge accepted!
I got a new synthesizer sound and put that in the beginning, (Because what I had kinda sounded like a chorus) and wrote a melody to some choir in the background.
Then I added a sweep,
Then I added an arpeggio,
Then I added a better drum beat,
And then I had something okay. But it didn’t sound done. So I added another verse, to a snap because it sounded like a snap, not a snare drum.
Then I added another chorus, and added more arpeggio, and added a sub-bass (That I later added to the verse)
And then it sounded great.
But it still didn’t sound done.
So I added a bass thing, and another verse, and another instrument, and another thing, and blah blah blah, and another chorus with a key change, and then the song was a whole THREE MINUTES LONG!
That’s the longest song I’ve ever written, I think. No wait, how long is Skydiving?
Anyway, it was cool, and I needed a name.
Huh, what should I call it?
It certainly needed something.
Um, E-Sandy song number 1.
Yeah, that’ll work, and maybe get people excited for #2.
