My earliest memory of being in a church meeting is of singing Joseph Smith’s First Prayer. My family was sitting in a pew on the left side of the old chapel in West Lafayette, Indiana before the new stake center was built in 1986. Something about that hymn caught my attention that day and burned itself into a memory that is still with me.
This recording was made as the background music for a short interview that Mike Kelly filmed for the Enoch Utah Stake social media channels:
In the video I paraphrased what Alexander Dushku taught in the April 2024 General Conference. Experiences that build our faith are generally small things rather than grand visions like Joseph Smith saw. When I was a teenager that used to bother me, because I wanted stronger evidence to overcome my doubts. I’m ok with it now that my faith is stronger. God is good.
